Submissions
OzarksWatch Magazine focuses on the history and culture of the Ozarks. Most issues are theme-based, but themes are interpreted very broadly, and issues generally include other material not directly related to the cover theme. If you’re not sure, drop us a query.
WRITING
Subject Matter: See Upcoming Issues for preferred topics and deadlines.
Scholarly articles: Limit articles to 4000 words including endnotes and bibliography pages.
General articles, memoirs, fiction: limit to 4000 words.
Book Reviews: 500-750 words. Books should be current and about some aspect of Ozarks history and/or
culture. Query first.
All submissions should be made online if possible. Writing submissions should be double-spaced
and submitted electronically in Word or Word compatible software. Please do not format
your submission.

Mailed submissions should be typed, double-spaced, and accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. If there is not sufficient postage your work cannot be returned and we cannot respond to you.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photos may be color or black and white but must be at least 300 dpi.
By submitting a photograph, you agree to allow OzarksWatch Magazine to use it in the magazine, on the website, or on social media. We will give the photographer and/or submitter credit wherever it is used. We are happy to use an appropriate caption that you provide. We do ask that, if possible, you provide the name(s) of the subject(s) and the location and date it was taken.
